Even those not too familiar with horror films know that characters in the genre are almost always forbidden from taking the most obvious option when decision-making, and it is a trend that is present enough to have a parody made in the opposite direction, according to YouTube user ‘pixelpersecond’.
The group, headed by director and writer Joe Nicolosi, have this week released a hypothetical trailer for a horror film where the characters ‘do the right thing’ in the face of danger, such as not going into haunted cabins and turning down unusual proposals.
Released under the title of Hell No on 15 October, the video description reads: “Imagine a realm where the most horrifying terrors of the underworld emerge to wreak bloody vengeance upon any who… hmm? what’s that? you wanna go literally anywhere else? yeah, good idea let’s get out of here.”
